Mark R. Alvig, President
Mark R. Alvig is a leader is estate and financial planning, and has more than twenty-eight years of experience in helping families plan for the future. He graduated from the University of Minnesota- Mankato with a Bachelor’s degree, concentrations in business, finance and insurance. He then successfully completed the “CFP Professional Education Program” from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. Mark has held financial planning and management positions with several national and regional firms. Mark is also co-author of Protect Your Legacy: A Handbook for Estate Planning and has presented Estate Planning for Farmers: Practical Solutions and Tools for the National Business Institute. David P. Buss, CEO
David P. Buss grew up in rural Lake Crystal on the family farm. He helped his father with Farmfest and Dakotafest in the 80’s and 90’s. He has been a licensed financial planner since 2001. David’s passion is making sure family legacies are protected and has been successful helping many cli¬ents achieve this goal. His experience for coming up complex ideas and making them simple for the family to implement has resulted in hundreds of estate plan solutions. He believes the best way to take care of a family legacy is proper planning and sound advice. David has also co-authored Protect Your Legacy: An Estate Planning Handbook, What You Need to Know To Keep Your Farm in the Family and has presented Estate Planning for Farmers: Practical Solutions and Tools for the National Business Institute.

Gary Otte, CIC

As the P&C Agency Team Leader, Mr. Otte is responsible for designing many of our benefit programs and working with marketing representatives for the distribution of these programs. He has over thirty-seven years of experience in the banking, insurance, and investment industry. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Morris school of banking, Mr. Otte spent twenty-seven years with a financial institution as Vice President and Director. In 1982, Mr. Otte earned his designation as a Certified Insurance Counselor. In 1998, he formed G.P. Agencies, Inc., an independent property and casualty insurance agency, and he later formed Unity Financial. Through these entities, he has developed and marketed various national insurance and investment related products. Mr. Otte is a past president of the Minnesota Professional Insurance Agents Association, and was awarded Professional Agent of the Year by the association in 1986. Mr. Otte is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents Association and the Professional Insurance Agents Association, in which he has been active in many capacities over the years.

Nate Moen
Nate graduated from the University of North Dakota with a B.A. in Business and Public Administration with an emphasis in investments and managerial finance. He is a licensed financial planner, and prior to joining AWA he held an advisement position with a national financial services firm. Nate is a Medicaid planning specialist, and will go the extra mile to ensure the comfort and safety of our clients.

Clay Wallace
Clay worked 16 years working for International Corporations up to the Senior Management levels, and has owned various small businesses. He has served 18 years as a Military Officer in the Guard and Reserves and is still active as a LTC.
These combined experiences bring an understanding of human relation and emotions combined with the business understanding of maximizing revenues while controlling expenses. Benefit packages typically make up the number two expense item in a small companies income and expense statement.
My understanding of the health and life insurance industries, combined with my business experience, provides me the insight of understanding the proprietor's need as well as the desires and needs of the employees.

Larry G. Lalim
Larry has over 28 years of working with farmers and helping them with estate planning and helping keeping the farm in the family. He is one of our most experienced farm estate planners.
